Energy Geotechnics: Mechanics of the energy transition

Date: Thursday 3 October 2019
Time: 08:30 – 17:00
Location: Science Centre of the TU Delft, Mijnbouwstraat 120, 2628 RX Delft

The energy transition is without doubt one of the most important challenges Dutch and international society faces in the coming decades. The initiative for the symposium has been taken in order to give science and practice an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences on this topic. The focus is on the geotechnical and geomechanical aspects of renewable energy production, distribution and storage.

This symposium has been organised under the auspices of the ISSMGE Technical Committee TC308 and Kivi Geotechnics.
The keynote speakers for this event are:

  • Remco de Boer (Journalist and broadcaster, Studio Energy) – Energy geotechnics and the energy transition
  • Dave Potts (Professor, Imperial College London) – The use of numerical analysis in the design of Energy Geostructures
  • Stefan Baisch (Managing Director, Q-con) – Induced seismicity in geothermal energy projects

The main language of the symposium is English.

More information and possibility to register can be found here: https://www.aanmelder.nl/energygeotechnics

The costs are € 50,- , incl. lunch and drinks. There are also possibilities to sponsor and exhibit during the event. Participation for students is free.
