Ingeokring, is the Dutch association of engineering geologists and geo engineers. It is the Dutch National group of the International Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM) and the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG). It is a forum for engineers and geologists in the Netherlands. During fieldworks and symposia organised by the Ingeokring its members and members of other societies in the Netherlands such as the KNGMG (Royal Geological and Mining Society of The Netherlands) meet, talks, discuss and learn. The Ingeokring is a provider of Continuous Professional Development courses recognised by the European Federation of Geologists.

With 150 members working in different organisations, ranging from universities and research institutes to contractors, from consultancy firms to various governmental organizations, Ingeokring plays a vital role in the communication between engineering geologists in The Netherlands.

Ingeokring organizes activities as excursions and symposiums, and publishes a Newsletter once a year. On this website more information can be found about upcoming events, publications, and the Newsletter. Check regularly for updates!

Ingeokring-Student Awards

Ingeokring has established a prize for the best thesis (MSc, ir. or drs.) in the field of Engineering Geology submitted to a Dutch University or Institute of higher education. The prize consists of a sum of 500 Euro and a certificate, to be handed out every two years at the annual symposium being held by the Ingeokring every autumn.
